Halloween is on its way! For pre-elementary school kids, it can be challenging to create lesson plans and activities that are age appropriate. Finding games you can play, activities you can do, and fun lesson materials can be difficult. Adding in a desire to teach physical skills and you've got a recipe for stress.
This week, I will be posting lesson ideas, games, party invitation/newsletter samples, worksheets, book suggestions, and more for preschool and kindergarten aged kids. These materials will work for native English speakers and ESL/EFL kids.

DAY 1
Clip art suggestions:
I love buying clip art. My favourite clip art for Halloween lessons is from Prettygrafikdesign. They are cute enough for little kids but still attractive to adults.
I've been using Prettygrafikdesign for more than four years and have amassed quite a collection!
A lot of their products are available for $1US. The lesson samples, materials, and party samples in subsequent posts will include clip art from them.
They make great general decorations and worksheet pictures.
If you're looking for kids in costumes clip art, Cutesiness has a wide selection of options. This includes clipart that is storybook focused, including Disney-esque characters.
I often use these for Popsicle stick stories. By printing and laminating, the characters can be used to tell interactive stories. This is a wonderful way to keep smaller children interested in stories by allowing characters the ability to"move" and "talk" to the children.
Clipartisan has a great selection of animals that I have used for multiple activities and worksheets. I really like this collection of stamps because they are cute instead of scary. I also like using them for newsletters because it allows a cheerful feeling without impacting ink costs!
While free clip art is available online, I prefer having a collection that goes together. While your students may not notice or care, a unified look can be more professional in the eyes of the parents. Our number one goal is to make students happy and help them learn, but a happy parent is a happy school!
I'll see you tomorrow with Halloween Worksheets and Stories!
